One Drive for Business and Office 365

In addition to the instructions below, additional information is available at Online Training Resources for Office 365.

To set up your OneDrive and to locate the instructions for installing Office 2013 at home,
Login to the webmail version of Outlook.

Click on the Office 365 link at the top left of your screen.

At the top of the screen, you will see “Install Office on your PC”.  Click the Install Now button to access your personal copies of Office 365.  There are also links for Mac users, smartphones and iPads.

Note: If you still have Office 2010 on your computer, please contact us before you attempt to use OneDrive and Office 365.

To connect to OneDrive:
Click on the OneDrive icon in the center of your screen.




Click on sync


When the sync is complete, you should be able to see your OneDrive – UNT System folder on the left side of your Windows Explorer program of your office desktop computer.   It defaults to Favorites, but you can move it.

There are restrictions to One Drive files:

The file size must be smaller than 2GB.

The file path must be less than 256 characters. 

There is a limit of 20,000 synced files.

Restricted file name characters are: ( \ / : * ? “ < > | { } & # % ~ )

Files names cannot begin with a period (.)

Restricted file types (cannot be uploaded) are ashx, asmx, json, soap, svc, xamlx

Cannot be synched -> .tmp, .ds_store, desktop.ini, thumbs.db, ethumbs.db
